Tear
(tare – rip apart)
(teer – weep, cry)
Over many years and countries I have kept bags of my torn up drawings to use as primary source material for many of my series of work. As my husband’s Alzheimer’s Disease has progressed, the fragments of drawings remain for me as reminders of our 45 years together, all of which are lost to him. The two meanings and pronunciations of this simple four letter word provided me with a metaphor irresistible for me, hence the TEAR series.
